My early photographic fascination with river mouths and coastal inlets – I will call them both ‘estuaries’ only for shorthand - was tempered with disappointment.

 

The grandeur was missing. A more panoramic perspective, I hope, now offers something more holistic.

 

My intent is to capture the emotion as you stand on the shoreline of ‘estuaries’ under dramatic skies. In some images,

 

I also want to convey a sense of the emptiness of their vast open spaces.
