My early photographic fascination with downs and estuaries was tempered with disappointment. The grandeur was missing. A panoramic perspective, I realised, offered something more holistic. Something closer to the breadth of your own visual experience. For short, I call them Panos.
Both subjects are about drama: the emotion as you stand on the shoreline of estuaries under dramatic skies. The stark chalk down escarpments and summit plateaux, topped by rain curtains. The sense of the emptiness of both their vast open spaces. Here are 28 Panos for you to enjoy.
