It is often said that there are 2 sides to every story. My story was to be an exploration of the heart-felt misery caused by Austerity as I wondered through towns on the UK south coast. The reality was far more nuanced as my coastal travels increased to well over 100 journeys. Here then is the emotional rollercoaster of South Coasters during a period that imposed years of Austerity from the fall-out of the Financial Crisis, to Brexit, to Covid and to Ukraine.
