STORIES 2 has a primary focus on British Institutions – formal and social – that help define some of the distinctive cultural qualities of the British. Many of the Institutions selected shape our leisure – community clubs sustaining traditions such as bowls, cricket, rowing. Here, humour was sometimes close to the subjects as I captured their favourite pastimes.

Other Institutions like the NHS, play a fundamental health role in the national psych. I was able to capture life in one corner of a ward with my fellow patients – with their express approval.

Most of the images were captured during the 4-5 months long heatwave of 2026.
