Irony. Very British. It’s when there is a sharp contrast between expectations and reality.

In 2016, the UK voted to leave the EU – Brexit. The subject still divides the room and families. The expectations were about taking back control, re-directing monies from Brussels to the NHS, trading with whoever we wished and generally ‘living the good life’. In reality, the UK has struggled compounded by wars: Ukraine war, Iran war and several trade wars. We are where we are.

 

In these ‘un-funny’ times, here is a ray of sunshine, I hope.
